(Ferenstein Wire)  – Donald Trump’s rise in the presidential election has shocked the DC establishment and the Internet may have played an unusual role in his surprising popularity. Trump consistently gets a whopping 6% more supporters in online political polls than in traditional telephone surveys (6% is a big margin in a race with a lot of contenders). This discrepancy between online and live interview polls has baffled survey experts since online polls have been quite accurate in previous presidential elections.
