Since today is the fifth (or the sixth) day of Christmas, I thought I’d share the real species identities of all the birds mentioned in the famous English Christmas carol, “The Twelve Days of Christmas” , as identified by Pamela Rasmussen, an integrative biologist at Michigan State University, and coordinator of MSU’s crowd-sourced global bird sounds website, AVoCet.
