It’s an unpleasant thought, but urban wastewater may hold valuable clues as to our current and future health. Imagine an abundance of data supporting an early warning of a new flu outbreak. This would allow heath organizations to ramp up their efforts to mitigate and prevent its spread. A new research project out of MIT called Underworlds aims to do just that.
