Wow, what a difference a year makes. Over the past couple of years, the Polar Vortex was the big weather “buzzword.” It was everywhere: Talk Radio, The White House, and in every sidebar weather conversations. In many cases, it was misused, misinterpreted or “just plain wrong.” A debate raged on within meteorological circles about whether its usage raised awareness or was poor weather literacy. Interestingly, the Polar Vortex is quite strong right now, but you barely hear anything about it. Why so?
