Yesterday’s news that Facebook would allow users to order an Uber car to pick them up from inside its Messenger client picked up a lot of press. As always, it is the story behind the story that is worth paying attention to, and it’s a simple one. The messaging client is the new platform, and Facebook is pushing hard to be seen as a leader in the West.
