Carrying data into the far future will require careful management of data to support multiple copies and continuous detection and elimination of data corruption. Cloud storage may provide these capabilities to both small and larger enterprises due to the economies of scale and greater efficiencies that large data centers can achieve. Also since these archives are available on-line they can provide active archives, supporting access and use of the archived data.
