Discussions about designing employee experiences tend to be centered on the part an organization plays. However, it’s not strictly the responsibility of the company to create a utopia for their employees, or as I like to call it, Pinocchio’s island. Employees have just as much accountability as the organization to create and shape their own great employee experiences. Autonomy, self-motivation, and feedback are all things the employee is accountable for. They need to take charge to help create their employee experiences by not only looking at what the company can do for them, but what they can do for themselves.
