The other day, an interview with Bungie senior designer Derek Carrol said that year two of Destiny would revolve around large-scale free events funded by microtransactions rather than big, monolithic DLC packs. It’s an interesting idea, but it’s getting off to a bit of a rocky start with the Sparrow Racing League, started yesterday. One of this event’s biggest real-money items is a $10 “SRL Record Book,” a list of accomplishments guardians can tick off for rewards. Thing is, some players found a way to get it for free.
