This one is so plainly obvious it can’t even be classed as a prediction anymore. At the time of writing, Ericsson has also released a report which surveyed 100,000 consumers on their own predictions for the top tech trends in years to come. Unsurprisingly, the smartphone will no longer be seen as the go-to-device in our daily lives, with 50% of the respondents stating that they expected most smartphone functions to be superseded by artificial intelligence by 2021.
