Apple’s move to OLED for the iPhone is a long time coming — as in still more 3 years away. To get there requires Japan Display and LG to build capacity to make the displays, joining Samsung as major suppliers of the technology. With 200+ million iPhones made each year, it’s not easy changing what goes inside.
