JetBlue’s new pilot training program, which takes candidates with no flight training and brings them into the right seat of an Embraer E-190, may be the camel’s nose under the tent in testing the waters for a training regime that has already been accepted around the world. If it is ultimately accepted it will be a positive sea change for the U.S. airlines industry despite the hurdles it must face.
