Small Business Saturday Spending Tops $16.2 billion, A 14% Increase From Last Year

Small Business Saturday took place this past weekend, marking its’ sixth time celebrating independent businesses across the country. Founded in 2010 by American Express, Small Business Saturday was created to help bring more awareness and consumer dollars towards small businesses during the busiest shopping season of the year. Their goal of doing this has done just that, with this most recent Small Business Saturday marking their most successful yet according to results from the Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey, recently released by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and American Express.
