My 10-year-old son and I communicate by text message on the nights that his mother has custody. Usually, he’s asking me for technical support because there is a problem with his laptop. Sometimes, he asks me to bring something to school for him in the morning. Occasionally, he wants permission to do something on the nights when he knows he’ll be with me.
