This time last week I was a sine wave of emotion, having taken part in my adult dance school’s Showcase, an annual celebration of all the dance styles that we have learned over the previous year. I took part in six dances ranging from pointe ballet and going through to tap dance, with Latin and Ballroom and some commercial thrown in for good measure. We performing each twice for the two shows we put on in a theatre. After eight weeks of rehearsals three nights a week or more, I was exhausted – perhaps I still am – but I loved taking part in what was my second Showcase, and felt sad that it was over for another year.
