In the last six months Intel, Lenovo and Google, via Asus, have all released an HDMI stick that is the equivalent of a fully operational desktop PC (just add screen, keyboard and mouse) which can be plugged into any device with an HDMI socket (television, desktop) and used in exactly the same way as a normal PC right down to the Operating System.
