Black Friday grows like some tentacled, Lovecraftian beast, stretching out into Thanksgiving, the week before, and the week beyond, spreading deals wherever it goes. While the day after Thanksgiving is definitely ground zero for our annual shopping extravaganza, a number of retailers are turning the week before Black Friday into an unofficial start to what we could consider “November Shopping Season,” or somesuch. Amazon started rolling out deals today, and Microsoft just unveiled a whole raft of Xbox One and Xbox 360 deals on Xbox Live: they’re exclusive to gold members (who also get better deals throughout) until the 24th, but the company has a nifty little deal where you can buy a month of Xbox Live Gold for $1 to get access to the deals. The first taste is free.
