Here’s the thing about Star Wars: Battlefront: it’s not terrible. There is a core game here that’s actually really fun, between the pitch-perfect visuals, moments of John Williams’ score, satisfying blaster action and brilliant “Walker Assault” game mode, DICE has scored some real successes here. This is the first of the Disney-era AAA Star Wars games, and it feels right. The problem is that there is really only a core game. Aside from Walker Assault, there’s a bunch of filler modes, some reasonably fun but half-baked single player “missions,” and… a couple of different maps for Walker Assault.
