Simply follow the news on any given week and you’ll see how data privacy is an issue that’s not going away anytime soon. Retail breaches continue with troubling regularity, along with revelations about digital surveillance.  Government and private sector standards on personal data, meanwhile, keep colliding as policy debates (like the “Right to be Forgotten”) and court battles (like the recent Facebook case in the European Court of Justice).
