Erik Huggers did his best to bring a new way of experiencing TV on the internet at chip maker Intel. The Intel effort — called OnCue — was a way of serving pay-TV content online alongside web content. Intel had its own set-top box hardware and software platform for delivering this experience, and it was getting a positive early reception from people who tried it. But before OnCue could fully launch, new Intel CEO Brian Krzanich pulled the plug and sold the project off to Verizon for reportedly around $200 million in 2014.
