If you are trying to create a data infrastructure to support your business and think everything is going to be in a single repository, be it Hadoop or anything else, you are wearing blinders. As Michael Stonebraker recently expressed in “The Case for Polystores,” enterprises can’t assume that all their data will be neatly held in a single repository. Some of the great innovation we are seeing today is the variety of data repositories available to capture and store the incredible diversity and volume of data being created.
