‘Rise of The Tomb Raider’ Review: Lara The Explorer

Lara Croft is done surviving. 2013’s Tomb Raider saw our classic heroine as a green grad student, stranded on an unfamiliar and dangerous with only her wits to save her, quickly augmented by an extensive arsenal of automatic weapons. That’s out of the way now. She’s done grappling with the pangs of guilt that come with the blood on her hands, and she’s taking the tentative first steps into the role we first found her back in 1996. Rise of The Tomb Raider, too, is done establishing the new systems and ideas meant to define itself in the modern world, and it’s confidently stepping into its role as one of the best action adventure games out there.
