As 2015 draws to a close, Google has watered down the hardware requirements of Android One, handed control of the OS distribution back to the manufacturers, and weakened Android One to the point that there is little benefit for a manufacturer to go with an Android One production over a regular Android production. In essence, the Android One project has failed to meet its own expectations.
