Because waiting until the morning really isn’t an option anymore. As it stands, the average gamer has two options for grabbing a new release like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 the second it goes live. The traditional method is to attend some sort of midnight launch event at a Gamestop or other store, and grab the thing while thronged by like-minded fans. This, however, requires leaving your house, and puts precious minutes in between acquiring the game and actually playing it. Enter the second option: pre-loading the game from a digital storefront and waiting for an unlock. This foregoes the box, and can be an issue for those with bandwidth restrictions. And so Amazon offers us a third by starting midnight deliveries as part of Amazon Prime Now. That’s what they’ll be doing tonight with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
