While wearables offer a variety of notification options, they are still not easily customized. Modern interaction designers can learn a few lessons from Morse code.
I started wearing fitness trackers to track my sleep several years ago. I have worn several different models, including Fitbit Flex and then Force (which did not harm my wrist), Garmin Vivofit and a brief and unproductive flirt with Pivotal Tracker. All of these products, however, are intensely geeky looking. I bought colorful aftermarket wristbands for my Flex and Vivofit, but that only made then look geekier.
