The Xbox One Elite Bundle is, ostensibly, the top of the line as far as Xbox is concerned. Microsoft is selling the thing with a 1 TB solid-state hard drive that promises not only twice the storage of a standard model, but also 30% faster load times, along with the $150 Xbox One elite controller, coming in at $499.99. Those who remember launch will nod knowingly at that number: it’s the catastrophic price point that essentially guaranteed the original Xbox One’s demise against the $399.99 PS4. Which is why it’s all the more telling what Microsoft chose to omit from its no-holds-barred Xbox One Bundle: the Kinect.
