Some of Microsoft’s moves with the Xbox One as of late could be seen as acceptance. The company will no longer report hardware sales for the Xbox platform, choosing instead to lean on Xbox Live engagement as the primary yardstick as far as reporting is concerned. There’s nothing all that odd about the move on the surface, but for those that have watched the Xbox One trail Sony’s PS4 since day one, it seems like a pretty clear way out of the “we’re selling less” problem and an acknowledgement of the console’s position in the industry.
