There’s a dance that happens in Destiny. It takes many forms, from shadowshot quivers, to Three of Coins, to raid bosses, but it’s all basically the same thing. Bungie makes a game, and the players try to break it. That’s what it comes down too, really. Destiny can be absurdly complicated at times, and a committed group of players and those that follow them are always looking for any way to circumvent the actual mechanics, whether that’s knocking the first raid boss off of his platform with certain grenades or finding some curiously invulnerable spot and camping out. When we get a new strategy, we call it a cheese. And people did, in fact find a cheese for Oryx hard mode, the current toughest enemy in the game. As a side note, I have no idea why. Is it just because the whole thing feels “cheesy?”
