The U.S. challenge to China in the South China Sea means “an honest broker” is needed to sort out the problems and stop the confrontation from spiraling out of control. That’s the view of a former South Korean foreign minister, Song Min-Soon, as he considers “dangerous developments” in the wake of a U.S. guided missile destroyer’s foray within the 12-mile limit set by China around the Spratly Islands.
