I doubt we’d have an Xbox today without the Halo series. For years, the epic space opera has been the bulwark of Microsoft’s stable of exclusives, defining the console even as it revolutionized the concept of connected console shooters. Next week, the Xbox One finally gets Halo 5: Guardians, and it’s bound to provide a nice bump to the Microsoft’s console as it continues to rebuild its reputation after a rocky launch. November is a huge month for video games software/hardware sales, and Microsoft looks ready to capitalize.
