YouTube is entering the subscription streaming market. Next week the Google-owned video site will launch YouTube Red, a new ad-free video and music streaming service for $9.99 a month ($12.99 a month for iOS users). The main selling points of a YouTube Red subscription are offline and background play functionalities and that it will showcase YouTube stars such as PewDiePie and Lilly Singh in original content, which will be exclusive to the service.
