It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and the initial reactions to yesterday’s product reveal by Microsoft certainly has echoes of Apple’s hardware line-up. But instead of mocking the similarities, Apple should be welcoming Microsoft into the fray. Not only will the new hardware benefit Microsoft, but it will also help drive Apple forward, and give both companies more opportunities to weaken Google.
