We knew it would happen eventually. Yesterday Bungie announced that microtransaction were making their first, tentative steps into the world of Destiny. Just a little thing to start with, to be clear, but it’s obviously an attempt to test the waters and pave the way for a more comprehensive microtransaction system. Starting next week, Tess Everiss is going to start selling emotes (dances and the like) for a small amount of “silver,” a new currency only available by purchase.  It might seem like a giant red flag to some, but I think that ultimately, this is the best possible course for the game to take.
