Why Giving Managers Leadership Training Is A Waste Of Time

We’ve all seen this story play out. The people who get promoted within organizations are the ones who are at good at organizing, delegating, managing, looking after the “numbers,” and maintaining the status quo. Then, after getting promoted they are oftentimes given leadership training which can entail learning the ability to engage, empower and inspire others. Not only does this approach not make any sense but I think it actually hurts many of our organizations.
