Behind The Scenes Of ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s’ Orchestral Soundtrack

It’s an easy thing to forget, as your super-soldier sprints his way towards some massive exploding set piece, gruff men shouting all around him and the camera wrenching around for cinematic effect. We hear the orchestra swell in the background, but in order for that to happen, reaching some grand crescendo as you fend off cybernetic terrori, there had to be, at some point, an actual orchestra. Not one composed of rocket launching mechs and assault rifles, but a bunch of professional musicians, sitting in chairs and working their way through each bar. In the case of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the musicians and their chairs sat in a converted church in Nashville, Tennessee, not too far from Music Row.
