Right about this time last year, Rackspace announced its OnMetal Cloud Big Data Platform, which essentially gave customers bare-metal access to Hadoop clusters with Spark via the cloud. And earlier this year, the company announced that it was bringing its “fanatical” support to Google Apps For Work, for customers that required guidance with Google’s popular web apps. Well, Rackspace is making more news this week and plans to use the Strata Hadoop World conference in New York to announce that it will be offering Managed Cloud Big Data services to its big-data customers.
