Early next month, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv will match up in a game at the United Center in Chicago. Three days later, they’ll tipoff again at Madison Square Garden in New York. The games will mark the first-ever in which two Euroleague clubs take to the court against each other at sites outside of Europe. If that begs a question about whether it’s at all a big deal, a better question is “why now?”
