The board of Volkswagen Group appointed Porsche chief Matthias Mueller as CEO on Friday night, capping a tumultuous week in which the automaker has struggled to deal with the fallout from the revelation that it duped the U.S. EPA on emissions-testing of its diesel vehicles.
