Boston-based daily fantasy sports company DraftKings was recently selected to a list highlighting those setting the Boston sports scene on fire right now.  Yet, the operator that has spent upwards of $20 million per week on TV advertisements, brokered twelve NFL team partnerships, eight NHL team deals, nine NBA team arrangements and practically signed up all of Major League Baseball failed to defend home court.  One of its newest and strongest competitors, Draft Ops, has won the right to become the official fantasy partner of TD Garden in Boston under a five-year deal.  TD Garden is the venue that hosts the Boston Bruins and Celtics, teams that DraftKings spent more than a million dollars combined to get under contract.
Under the new five-year deal, Draft Ops will have three unique branded locations within TD Garden .  The exclusive membership club Legends will be renamed Legends presented by Draft Ops, TD Garden will convert an executive suite by branding it with Draft Ops marks and including Draft Ops brand ambassadors, and as is the new norm in these arena-based fantasy operator deals, Draft Ops will have a fantasy lounge within TD Garden to educate patrons about daily fantasy sports and to host events such as meet-and-greet opportunities with notable Boston athletes.
