When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Silicon Valley this weekend, he will be the first Indian leader to visit in nearly four decades. But the trip will be significant in more ways than that. Modi will land in a Silicon Valley reality that is different from even a decade ago and, in that decade, Indian-origin executives have risen to prominence in leading global technology firms and have become a significant presence in the line-up of founders (almost a fifth by some estimates) of technology startups in the Bay Area.
