Apple wants in on the electric car business and is ramping up its efforts. Citing sources close to the matter, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Cupertino-based tech giant has set an aggressive timeline for its foray into the electric car market with an intended 2019 ship date for its first model. According to the outlet, Apple’s electric car project—code named “Titan”—is backed by an impressive team of Apple employees, many of whom have been pulled from other tasks to focus on the tech giant’s imminent entry into the automotive industry. Titan’s leaders have reportedly been given that go-ahead to triple the original 600-person team.
