Handing over the keys to the family car is a leap of faith that many parents make with their newly minted driver. Later this year, the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu will go on sale with GM’s first application of its new Teen Driver feature that should buy parents a bit more peace of mind. After all, it’s a factory-installed, hard-wired feature that can’t be easily disabled like aftermarket devices that plug-into on-board diagnostic ports, and it’s not an app that kids can turn on and off almost at will. But it’s not fool-proof.
