Google Has a ‘Super Mario Bros.’ Easter Egg

Before you go any further: type “Super Mario Bros.” into Google. Get clicking, and make sure to turn the volume on. Not only will you begin to collect coins, which everyone wants, you’ll get a little surprise once you get past 100. Not to ruin the surprise, but fans of the series will probably have some idea of what happens when you get enough of those things. It seems to be in connection to the Super Mario’s 30th anniversary — the game was first released in Japan on September 13, 1985 (the character first appeared in 1981 as “Jumpman,” the player character in Donkey Kong).
