You might remember that Google included a dark theme with the first Android M developer preview, which was a really nice touch for those who are tired of the painfully bright white material interface. But it didn’t make it to the next preview, and it won’t be coming to the official release of Marshmallow.
This isn’t entirely unexpected, as it was a test feature in an early test build of Android Marshmallow. We knew it might be cut, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s sad. However, Google says that it will be considered for future releases.
With the move to all white user interfaces, nighttime usage has gotten significantly more unpleasant. Plus, some of us simply like dark UIs more. What’s your opinion on the issue?
