LinkedIn Revamps Its Messaging Tool To Catch Up With Chat-Style Apps

Messaging is at the core of the mobile world, and LinkedIn doesn?t want to miss out.

On Tuesday, the Mountain View, Calif.-based company said it is launching a revamped version of its messaging tool that aims to make it easier to have shorter and more casual professional conversations. LinkedIn is moving away from a clunky inbox design that mimics email. The professional social network’s new tool resembles the clean and simple interfaces of popular messaging apps such as Apple?s iMessage and Facebook-owned WhatsApp and Messenger. LinkedIn is starting to roll out the updated platform to English-speaking members globally on Android, iOS and the web on Tuesday, and said it plans to make the feature available in other languages in the coming weeks.
