Intel plans to introduce this technology first into their enterprise server products where the need is greatest and where an initially higher priced NVM memory will be less of a issue for customers. However the company made it clear in their presentations that they envision XPoint memories serving a more general computer and even consumer market enabling faster internet of things as well as devices such as smart phones and wearables.
