If Amiibo are a little bit like Pokemon, then this thing is ditto. A new device, spotted by Eurogamer, could spell trouble for Nintendo and it’s ever-increasing library of Amiibo. The Amiiqo, as it’s called, is designed to be able to back up the data on your amiibo so that you can use it later, allowing you to store several different games’ versions of a particular figurine. It’s a useful little tool that allows you to expand the capabilities of figures you already own. But the device could easily be used to load the data for any amiibo you want onto any figurine, allowing you to unlock various pieces of amiibo-specific content without actually buying the figurine.
