Over the past few years, the trend in social media is that everything is going towards video. Not only are mainstays like Facebook focusing heavily on promoting video content and making user-uploaded clips work well, but newer, more video-focused apps like Vine and Snapchat have all become big players in the space. It has become clear that while there will likely always be a place for text, photos and video are just now coming into their prime.
