Bigger Not Always Better, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ And Note 5 Underscore Display Sweet Spot

When oversized smartphones started hitting the market, most folks scoffed a bit, especially since Apple’s dominant iPhone product offering managed to hold commanding market share for so long at 4 – 4.5 inches. The term “phablet” was coined to describe what most considered to be unweildly devices for power users, that crossed the tablet and smartphone display demarcation line. Since those early days, market preferences have trended definitively larger with even hold-out Apple caving on the iPhone 6 Plus. Samsung, on the other hand, has always been at the forefront of the large display smartphone trend and it has paid off for the company nicely over the years. The company began first with devices like the 4.5-inch Infuse 4G, then the 4.65 Galaxy Nexus and finally they went all-in with the original 5.3-inch Galaxy Note product offering, which grew with each new iteration to the 5.7 Galaxy Note display platform still being introduced with brand new devices like the just unveiled Galaxy Note 5.
