10 Years Later, Did We Learn Anything from Hurricane Katrina?

It is hard to believe that 10 years ago this week, the tropical depression that would become Hurricane Katrina formed. According to NOAA, Katrina killed over 1200 people, resulted in $108 billion in property damage, and happened within a year in which we literally ran out of storm names. When you compare $108 billion to the National Weather Services’ roughly $1 billion budget, the investments in weather prediction are a bargain.
