Over the last few days, Amazon quietly changed its “Amazon Household” policies to prevent Prime members from sharing access to the free two-day shipping benefit with friends and extended family. Now Amazon Prime users can share the benefits with only one other adult, including the free two-day shipping option, Prime Instant Video, Prime Music, Prime Photos, Prime Pantry, Prime Early Access, Amazon Mom discounts, Kindle Owners’ Lending Library and Kindle First. The policy change will likely encourage Amazon Prime users to share their account with just their significant others. Amazon Prime costs $99 per year for standard accounts and $49 per year for student accounts.
